For twenty-four years, volunteers have auditioned, performed, painted sets, created costumes, and sold memberships at the Grand Opera House. Carpenters, painters, stage crews, box office workers, hosts, ushers, technicians, performers and costumers all play significant roles in “raising the curtain”. Actors and backstage workers are strictly volunteers, all under the direction of the Uvalde Arts Council, Inc. Participation in the activities of UAC is open to anyone.
There is no better place to experience theater in all its rich variety than at the Janey Slaughter Briscoe Grand Opera House. We’ve got a year of great entertainment starting in September.
